About Gernot Klingler

I’m Gernot Klingler, a software developer living near Linz, Upper Austria. I love “playing around” with technologies and tools related to software development.

In the last years I also spent a lot of time reading and thinking about software development in general: anything related to the question of how to build software products that are reliable, testable, scalable, maintainable and usable. Or in other words: How to keep complexity of software and its development under control. This includes software design and architecture as well as development methods and principles. I try to look at software development in a “holistic view”: while coding is important, there is much more than this (I’ll clarify this in a future post). The intent of this blog is to document my experiments, experiences and thoughts publicly in the hope somebody find it useful and to get feedback on what I do/think.
